The Malankara (Indian) Orthodox Church traces its Christian heritage as far back as A.D.52 when St. Thomas who is one of the apostles of Lord Jesus Christ who came to India and established Christianity.People of this south Indian province were known as the St.Thomas Syrian Christians because of our liturgy (Holy Eucharist) were in Syriac or in Aramaic language from the early times.  The language that is believed to be spoken by Jesus Christ himself .
